At church with Elder Solov'iov and Luminita

Hey guys this was a pretty sweet week here in Pitesti!!

Tuesday we had a really strong lesson with two guys named Alex and Mihai. We had taught Mihai before, so our main focus was Alex. We taught them about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith, two things that both of them really need to know. It was a really good lesson and both Alex and Mihai felt the Spirit for sure. We gave Alex a Book of Mormon and committed him to read and pray about it. He gladly accepted and it'll be great to see how he progresses.

Wednesday we had a spiritual feast as we had 2 lessons with 2 investigators. First was with our investigator Luminita about the Word of Wisdom and prophets. She loves prophets and she knows they are called of God to lead His church. So when we taught her about the Word of Wisdom, she understood it was revelation from God given to His prophet. She understood it was the word of God and she committed to stop drinking coffee which was her only WoW problem. Our second lesson was with another Mihai who we have been meeting with as well. We taught him the Gospel of Jesus Christ and he really enjoyed the lesson and it really stuck with him. He is progressing slowly but it is necessary for growth and understanding.

Thursday we had exchanges with the elders from Constanta so that was really fun. I was with Elder Jacob and together we had a lesson with the first Mihai from this week. We taught him the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we felt the Spirit so strongly. Mihai is starting to keep his commitments and that is making teaching him much better. After our lesson, we felt a strong impression to commit him to baptism again. So we did and he accepted! He now has a baptismal date for June 23rd and we are excited to see if he continues to grow and develop with time. The day overall was pretty awesome with the Constanta elders and we had a good time do our missionary stuff haha.

Friday the big highlight was sports night where we played an intense game of ultimate frisbee. We had a bunch of great guys playing with us and we decided to play missionaries vs. all. So Elder Solov'iov and I played a 4 against 2 match with our friends. The fun part was we actually won that game which goes to show how awesome we are at ultimate frisbee haha. But everyone enjoyed it so much and wanted to keep playing as much as possible which was cool. We then also saw a concert on the way home which was pretty darn lit. It had some of the best music artists from Romania there so we just had to watch for a little bit haha.

Saturday we found out about transfers and I am staying in Pitesti and my new comp will be Elder Thomson. He was in Galati when I was in Galati so we know each other and it'll be a pretty good time. Elder Solov'iov is leaving back to Moldova which is sad but he did great things while he was here in Pitesti. We then had games night and we had a huge amount of people which made everything so much fun.

Sunday we had a very nice time at church. I gave a talk on baptism and why it is important for us and it was really good because we had a good amount of investigators there and they need to hear everything they can about baptism. After church, we had a lesson with Luminita again about fasting and tithing and she was all for it. So we then prepared for her baptism on the 27th and everyone is just so excited about her being baptized. The branch is excited, we are excited, it's a good time! This upcoming week will be a big week to prepare as much as possible for this wonderful moment.

I love and miss you all! I hope for only the best from you all and I know that as long as you try your best, you will be blessed. Keep rocking the world and never stop pushing forward!!
Rockin' it in Romania.

Va iubesc,
Elder Bowen

Stand Ye in Holy Places

Hey everyone!!! So this was a really big week and a good amount of things went down, but I don't have all the time to talk about them, so I'll just give you all the basics! Bowen and Hoisington in the street! So the highlight and downfall of this week was when we set a baptismal date with Felix for about 24 hours. So we met up with him this week and we had a lesson about the Plan of Salvation. We had Fratele Matei with us and he was a big help for us because he loves this lesson. So we teach and it went really well and we set a date for August 18th! We were happy, Matei was happy, it was great. But we were talking with him at night and he said he no longer had any faith. So naturally, we meet up with him again and it was an interesting meeting. Essentially he is looking for historical evidence that the Book of Mormon is true and he doesn't have that evidence that it is true. So, we dropped his date and we won't be meeting with him anymore until he starts having ...

Day 1 - to the Provo Missionary Training Center

Day 1 (from David not Cole) The day began so early.  We arrived at the Des Moines Airport at 4:30 for a 6:00 Flight.  Checking in was no problem, but it became real that this was the first steps in embarking on this two year adventure. Saying goodbye was hard for all, but we all kept it all together. The itinerary took Cole from Des Moines to Dallas-Fort Worth to Salt Lake City.  He fortunately met up with a couple other missionaries enroute to the Provo Missionary Training Center (MTC). Aunt Lisa met Cole at the airport.  The flight was slightly delayed, but they were able to get out of Salt Lake quickly as his bags were the first off the plane. We spoke with Cole as they traveled to Provo.  He was in good spirits, and proud to have navigated security, connections, gate changes, and all that excitement. In Provo, he also met up with his Aunt Sara and her family (Uncle Simon, Kajsa, Brynn, Maya, Isak) and Uncle Scott and his family (Aun...

"Whatever it is, we are against it" - Romania?

Hey everyone it was a pretty great week in Bucuresti! Tuesday we had exchanges with the Zone Leaders and I went with Elder Krylborn. He's a pretty awesome guy and we had a really solid day! We spoke in Romanian for a good amount of the day and focused a lot on how to keep accountable with the goals we have set. Overall, it was a great day and we were able to see a lot of success because of our hard work!   At a mall in Bucharest - me being me Wednesday we didn't do much overall except we had someone try to fix our hot water and have it ultimately fail so they told us they would try again the next day. So that was fun? Thursday we had a good day as we met with a member named Fang Shuang (he's from China) do his Family History so that was pretty awesome!! We also got some pretty great lunch with him so that was pretty great! We then had a lesson with a man named Florian who ended up being super awesome! We taught a 30 minute Restoration and he ab...
