BREAKING OUT THE WHITE PANTS

HEY GUYS! This week was a rocking week!!!!!!!

Last Picture with Elder Solov'iov as he is headed to Moldova.

Tuesday was the first day with Elder Thomson around. We managed to do some great stuff, like teaching Luminita for the last time before her baptismal interview. It was super great and she was just loving everything going on! Definitely super prepared for her baptism and life in the church which is super good to hear!

Wednesday we had a solid time doing basically everything we could. We met a pretty cool guy named Daniel and talked about basketball and our purpose here as missionaries so that was awesome. We then visited a member at his work and we talked about life and everything, mainly so Elder Thomson could see the members again (he was here a year ago so that's lit). We then had Luminita's baptismal interview and it went super well! She passed with flying colors, making her baptism the next step on her path of discipleship.

Thursday we had a great time with an investigator named Victoria. We had a good time talking, learning Romanian and such and it was a great time overall. We managed to get a lesson in there and talk about the Book of Mormon and it's importance and that was really all we needed to talk about. She isn't progressing as much anymore, but with time she could develop into a really good investigator if we really tried our best with her. We then started working on the baptismal program and we did a really good job if I do say so myself haha.

(we did a really nice job)

Friday we had a pretty sweet district meeting and some good studies, but nothing too special went on. We just did our work and kept moving forward.

Saturday was a pretty intense day. We had to do many things for the baptism preparation and it was pretty stressful. We had to fill the font and the font was super sketch and almost broke while filling it up. We had to go print off programs and that was scary. But overall, we managed to do a pretty good job!! And even with everything going on, we managed to have a lesson with our investigator Mihai because he texted us saying he really wanted one. so we met and had a lesson on the Word of Wisdom and now he wants all his friends to live it like he is. He is super awesome and we are super happy with how he is loving the Gospel and everything about it. He has a baptismal date for June 23rd so that is exciting as well!

Sunday was the day!!!! The baptism of Luminita!!! And everything went super well. Good amount of members and investigators came and everyone enjoyed it. Even with our sketch font and the lack of water, I managed to get Luminita under the water fully and get her baptized!!! It was such a great experience for everyone and we are so blessed for this moment. And what's even better is that Mihai was at the baptism as well and he told us that he is super excited for his baptism to happen. So not only did we have the first baptism in years for Pitesti but we have a second one who is excited at the end of next month. How Elder Thomson and I put is simple: PITESTI FIRE.

Elder Thomson, Luminita, and Bowen

This church is true. The Book of Mormon is true. I have seen it bless lives and I cannot deny the impact it has made on so many people here in Romania. Call me crazy but I am not going to deny what I have seen touch the lives of Luminita and Mihai and the members here in Pitesti. I love you all and miss you dearly. Have yourselves a super awesome week!!!

Va iubesc,
Elder Bowen

Stand Ye in Holy Places

Hey everyone!!! So this was a really big week and a good amount of things went down, but I don't have all the time to talk about them, so I'll just give you all the basics! Bowen and Hoisington in the street! So the highlight and downfall of this week was when we set a baptismal date with Felix for about 24 hours. So we met up with him this week and we had a lesson about the Plan of Salvation. We had Fratele Matei with us and he was a big help for us because he loves this lesson. So we teach and it went really well and we set a date for August 18th! We were happy, Matei was happy, it was great. But we were talking with him at night and he said he no longer had any faith. So naturally, we meet up with him again and it was an interesting meeting. Essentially he is looking for historical evidence that the Book of Mormon is true and he doesn't have that evidence that it is true. So, we dropped his date and we won't be meeting with him anymore until he starts having ...

Day 1 - to the Provo Missionary Training Center

Day 1 (from David not Cole) The day began so early.  We arrived at the Des Moines Airport at 4:30 for a 6:00 Flight.  Checking in was no problem, but it became real that this was the first steps in embarking on this two year adventure. Saying goodbye was hard for all, but we all kept it all together. The itinerary took Cole from Des Moines to Dallas-Fort Worth to Salt Lake City.  He fortunately met up with a couple other missionaries enroute to the Provo Missionary Training Center (MTC). Aunt Lisa met Cole at the airport.  The flight was slightly delayed, but they were able to get out of Salt Lake quickly as his bags were the first off the plane. We spoke with Cole as they traveled to Provo.  He was in good spirits, and proud to have navigated security, connections, gate changes, and all that excitement. In Provo, he also met up with his Aunt Sara and her family (Uncle Simon, Kajsa, Brynn, Maya, Isak) and Uncle Scott and his family (Aun...

"Whatever it is, we are against it" - Romania?

Hey everyone it was a pretty great week in Bucuresti! Tuesday we had exchanges with the Zone Leaders and I went with Elder Krylborn. He's a pretty awesome guy and we had a really solid day! We spoke in Romanian for a good amount of the day and focused a lot on how to keep accountable with the goals we have set. Overall, it was a great day and we were able to see a lot of success because of our hard work!   At a mall in Bucharest - me being me Wednesday we didn't do much overall except we had someone try to fix our hot water and have it ultimately fail so they told us they would try again the next day. So that was fun? Thursday we had a good day as we met with a member named Fang Shuang (he's from China) do his Family History so that was pretty awesome!! We also got some pretty great lunch with him so that was pretty great! We then had a lesson with a man named Florian who ended up being super awesome! We taught a 30 minute Restoration and he ab...
