Covrigs and Octopus

Near the center of Galati
Hey everyone I am still alive and doing well in Romania so I will tell you all the happenings of life.

Tuesday was technically Halloween but Romanians do not celebrate that. It was kind of a let down but oh well that's life. Elder Dixon and I got to meet with the Branch President of our branch, President Titi. He is such a cool man with an amazing conversion story. He essentially was looking for truth for so long and when he was about to give up, the missionaries came. Now he's an amazing member and branch president. Elder Dixon and I were able to talk to him and teach him the restoration for practice (mainly for me haha). President Titi was very impressed to see I can speak the language better than some missionaries would have been here for a while. He also gave some good insights on how to make the restoration more effective, like asking questions and making it more personal. It must be good advice cause he is a convert himself. The rest of the day was pretty normal. However, we started these free English classes and a lot of people came to the first one. It was super awesome and it was even better to see that most of the people there were actually interested in our message and why we were there. Super awesome!

Wednesday the Galati elders went up to Chisinau, Moldova to go to a zone conference. It was pretty bumpy on the way there but we made it. The best part though was that we saw Elder Atkinson! It was soooo awesome to see him and talk with him and see how he's doing! but other than that, it was pretty chill cause we spent 4+ hours on a bumpy bus...

Awesome Elders of Galati (even if it is kind of blurry)

Thursday was the actual zone conference and we had Elder and Sister Johnson of the 70 come and teach us. It was super awesome to be with them and all the missionaries in our zone. We learned a lot about being an effective missionary and to be a high yield, low maintenance missionary. Working hard and obeying God's commandments is the key to being an awesome missionary. Such a great conference!! We also are preparing for our Christmas push which is super exciting cause it brings a lot of success to all missionaries.

Friday we slept in a little bit cause we arrived really late Thursday night. But we got out the door by 10 which was pretty great! Friday we decided to go to this village called Filesti which was waaay out there. We walked sooo much that day which was rough but met a kid named Julian who was really interested in our message and thought everything about the restoration was awesome! It really made a rough day great!

Saturday was a great day cause I ate octopus! So we went to a restaurant with a member and ate seafood. But apparently there was octopus in the meal and Elder Dixon did not tell me until 2 hours afterwards. But hey it was really good and I was surprised honestly. We also taught English again and more people are getting interested in our message and I really think a couple people will go far with all the spiritual thoughts we leave them with. We also invited a man to church out of the blue on the street but he seemed really interested because of that. We as a companionship have been trying to just invite all to come unto Christ cause that is our purpose. Christ wants everyone to come unto him (2 Nephi 26:33).

Sunday was fast Sunday and it was rough not eating food for a while. We walked a lot but it was all for a good cause. I also taught Sunday School during church which was really surprising cause it just happened out of the blue. But we just talked about the restoration and it is still helping me improve what to say and how to say it. It was really great and I definitely see my self improving a lot in the few weeks I've been here. We also taught our first investigator named Matias. He seems to understand what we have to say and has a lot of questions to go along with it. It was awesome and I see a lot of potential in him!

I am living life here in Romania. I've learned that covrigs are the greatest food ever. Look it up and you will wish you had it haha. I love you all and miss you all! Keep being awesome!

Snagov: Betcha never heard of that before

Hello everybody! Another hard working week in Bucuresti!!!! Bucuresti Zone Elders Tuesday was a solid day because it was Zone Conference! Of course it was in Bucuresti and we had quite a good time. We focused a lot on using members more in our missionary work. The motto of the conference was MEMBER IT and we got pretty hyped about everything. It was cool to see everyone as well and see how everyone is doing. Elder Thomson and Bowen the old Pitesti crew Wednesday we had a full day of contacting and lessons and it went pretty well. We had 2 big lessons with our men Felix and Florian. The first one with Felix was pretty darn good. We had a member named Fratele Matei with us and we gave a pretty scattered Restoration lesson for the most part. But it was really good because it helped Felix get comfortable with Matei and it should start a great friendship between the 2 of them. Our second lesson with Florian was also pretty good. It was really quick and simple because we

Celebration!!

Sweater Weather! HEYY everyone! This week was a week to celebrate about so listen up!!! Tuesday was the highlight of the week for sure!! We had a lesson with this man named Gelu and it was super awesome! When I was with Elder Dixon, we met this man on the street and taught him the Restoration. He loved it and accepted a baptismal invitation. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get in contact with him afterwards and we dropped him sadly. BUT, he called us this week and said he was super sorry for the lack of communication and he told us he really wanted to change his life for the better. So we decided to meet up and taught him the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And the lesson was absolutely amazing!! He loved it, we felt the Spirit, and we felt it was right to extend an invitation for baptism. Gelu will be baptized on February 24th in Galati and we are so pumped and excited for him. We even called President Hettinger and told him the news and he was just as pumped. It was really an

HammocKINGS

HammocKings! Hey guys this was a crazy week on so many levels!!!! Tuesday was a pretty packed day. We had 3 lessons with 3 investigators and they all went well. Our first was with Mihai and we helped him try and get back on that path towards baptism. He's been kinda flaky and this lesson was to really help him get back on track. We then had a lesson with Victoria and this was one of the highlights. We taught her about the Restoration and reestablished those expectations that we have for her. Turns out she has read from the Book of Mormon and is starting to see the similarities of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. She is starting to really progress and only big things are going to happen. We then taught Catalin a little about faith. This is what we really want to focus with him if he is ever going to progress any time soon. Overall, it was a bomb day! Am I real? Wednesday we had a slightly worse day as we only had 2 lessons to teach. The first was with Mihai ag
