Be a Flamingo in a Flock of Pigeons

Hey everyone, this was a great week and I hope you all enjoyed Easter!! Sadly I didn't, but I will this upcoming week (we celebrate it on Orthodox Easter, which is next week...) But that doesn't mean that this week wasn't awesome!!

This was a super week for us in Cluj. It felt like a super slow week with finding people, but we were able to have some great lessons with people and saw the progression in many people. We succeeded in having a great Easter lesson with a guy named Catalin, the same guy that was in McDonald's the week before. He was so into the message and he really wanted to share the message with his friends. He's still trying to find a person to share it with, but it's super cool to see that he actually wants to share it with people. And he wants to meet as well this week so I'm excited to see his progression moving forward. We also had a great lesson with a guy named Tudor. He came to church a few weeks ago and we finally had our schedules work together and we had a great lesson focused on the Book of Mormon. He's a guy that loves personal experiences so we shaped our lesson towards testifying about how we came to know the truth of the Book of Mormon. Because of our experiences and our testifying, he gained a greater desire to read the Book of Mormon and we're excited to see how his progression goes now. We are really focusing on inviting to baptism as well and I'm excited because we feel like this focus will lead to greater progression for our investigators and we will see more converts out here in the west!!

We have really been trying to get returning members involved way more and we saw that this week with our man Emil. We went over and shared the talk by Elder Uchtdorf about missionary work and for some reason, it just stuck with him and he had a greater desire to do missionary work. And it also helped him come to church which was a great sight to see!! It was also awesome to see 60 PEOPLE AT CHURCH SUNDAY. All of us did our best to get returning members to church and the equal impact from having the patriarch there helped us have a great day and the spirit was super strong! I'm hoping we can continue this fire with member work and mix that with baptismal commitments to get the most people at church possible for the upcoming weeks.

Now, to those reading this, make sure you read this next paragraph..

I really just want to share my testimony. This church is true, this gospel is true. God is truly our loving Heavenly Father and He truly sent His son, Jesus Christ, to save us and redeem us so we may have eternal life. Jesus Christ is truly our Savior, our Redeemer, the Lamb of God and the Good Shepherd, the Light and Life of the World, the Bread of Life, the Prince of Peace, the Rock of our Salvation. Christ did what he did because he loves us so dearly. He wants us to return to our Heavenly Father and to receive this eternal life. What we need to do is to come unto him and follow him. In this season of Easter, we can feel of Christ's love through his Atonement, his sacrifice and death and his triumph over death. He loves us. I know the Book of Mormon is a testament of him and his love for us as well. We can come closer to Christ by reading this book with real intent. As a ordained witness of Christ, I testify that these things are true and I invite you all to COME AND SEE. Those back home who aren't familiar with this church, I invite you to come and see what this is about. Come and feel of God's love for you. Come and see the blessings that come from this gospel. Come and know your Father in Heaven more. Come and read the Book of Mormon to know for a surety if it is true or not. Come and pray to God to know from the source. Come and worship with us and see how it can bless you. My family is willing to be your friends in this process and I know some wonderful missionaries who teach this gospel and are also ordained witnesses of Christ. the Spirit constrains me to say this and I know it will bless you so much. You don't even know until you try. I love you so much and I know that you will be happy, that you will have joy, that you will have peace as you go down this path and see for yourself. Have a great week!!

Va iubesc,
Elder Bowen

With Every Hardship, There is Ease

Hey everyone, this was a pretty fun week for us! First off, crazy awesome miracle!!! So for the past couple weeks, we haven't been able to get in contact with our good friend Dragoș. But we found him on the street and we invited him to church and the most amazing thing happened. He told us that these past weeks he had been in the hospital because of something with his head. But while in the hospital, he had a dream with an angelic person telling him that he needed to be baptized in the church of Jesus Christ. So on Sunday he told us he wants to be baptized as soon as possible, which leads to us having a baptismal date with him for the 3rd of August. God works in marvelous ways because he truly loves us. Another cool miracle this week was our friend Amber. She's from China and is doing volunteer work here in Romania. This week we started teaching her Romanian/Gospel and its been really great! She also loves the piano so she played the piano for us at church! She loved ch...

El Ultimo, Sfârşitul, My Final Curtain

Hello all you people! For those playing at home, this is my final email that I will send as a missionary. So this email will definitely be a good one! We had a solid week here in Pitesti. We had a really good lesson with Tata Sandu where we read from Alma 7, which testifies of Jesus Christ and the importance of faith and repentance and being baptized. His health keeps him from coming to church, but he really is interested and wants to hear our message. It seems that right when we arrive, he wants to read from the Book of Mormon, which is a sign of eagerness to learn and feast upon the words of Christ. Hopefully Elder Rawhouser can continue to help his desire grow and maybe help him enter the waters of baptism. We made it a priority this week to work with members, especially to strenghten up Mihai the recent convert. This week we focused on temples on watched some videos on what goes on in the temple and what all of it means. He liked it and now we want that to be his goal to go...

Stand Ye in Holy Places

Hey everyone!!! So this was a really big week and a good amount of things went down, but I don't have all the time to talk about them, so I'll just give you all the basics! Bowen and Hoisington in the street! So the highlight and downfall of this week was when we set a baptismal date with Felix for about 24 hours. So we met up with him this week and we had a lesson about the Plan of Salvation. We had Fratele Matei with us and he was a big help for us because he loves this lesson. So we teach and it went really well and we set a date for August 18th! We were happy, Matei was happy, it was great. But we were talking with him at night and he said he no longer had any faith. So naturally, we meet up with him again and it was an interesting meeting. Essentially he is looking for historical evidence that the Book of Mormon is true and he doesn't have that evidence that it is true. So, we dropped his date and we won't be meeting with him anymore until he starts having ...
