Heyy everyone!! This week was a great one for us out here in Cluj!
We have been doing a lot to try and set up lessons with people in the Area Book and it's been going quite nicely. We found this guy named Andrei who has already been to church a couple times and a few baptismal services in the past. We met up with him and we just tried to understand what he believes, what he's been taught, and what we need to do next. He has strong faith in Jesus Christ and has explained that we are imperfect and we need to change in order to return to God after this life. We discussed repentance and baptism with him and how he can know God's path through the Book of Mormon and prayer. He is a true seeker of the truth and gladly accepted to start reading and praying again. He then said if he finds the truth, he would be baptized which is a good sign! But he's not all for coming to church at the moment, so that'll be something we'll work on for the future. We also have been continuing to work with Gabriel, but he's been in a hard spot and isn't as open to reading or praying. He feels as though God won't listen to him and God has already forsaken him. We will continue to help him for sure because once he has a solid testimony, he has already expressed his desire to be baptized and that will only kick start his desire once again. Other then these guys, we have been trying hard to set up with people and invite people to church and it's been going quite. A slower process for sure, but we are working hard and I feel good about everything.
We had a great opportunity this week to visit the Branch President, President Kiss, and we discussed a lot about the needs of the branch and how we as missionaries can help. With his help, we came up with 3 members to help and work with this transfer. We have already been in contact with them and have set up times to visit and meet with them. We are going to work a lot with Fratele Vasile, the Branch mission leader, to get the missionary efforts up and rolling and we'll definitely work with Darius, the most recent baptism, to get him in lessons and to strengthen his testimony even more. This branch is wonderful and has a lot of potential for many things and it'll start with small acts of missionary work from these members. I'm excited to be able to work a lot with this branch and help it grow and strengthen.
We had an awesome opportunity to have an exchange in Sibiu and I had the pleasure of being with Elder Kemeny. He is doing super great! We worked really hard and I can see how much he has grown since I served with him. It was a party with him and I'm glad that he's well and rocking it without me haha.
With 2019 essentially on our doorstep, New Years Resolutions should be on our minds, right? We all have weaknesses and areas of improvement, but as the Lord has said "...I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." Ether 12:27. God knows our weaknesses and areas of improvement and He will make them strengths if we come unto Him and have faith in Him. So think of your areas of improvement and set a goal to improve! Keep yourself accountable with the Lord and He will bless you! You all are super awesome and we love and respect you all. Have a great week!!
