It's Like 2 Marshmallows in a Sea of Licorice

In front of the church in Cluj

Merry Christmas!!!!!!! I hope this day is a wonderful one!!

Elders Dahl, Church, Bowen, Kemeney in Sibiu for Christmas

It's been a really great week for us, both in Timisoara and in Cluj. In Timisoara, we had a great couple of days to properly send me off! The greatest story was that Elder Strobel and I went bloc knocking for the first time in a long while. While we were doing so, we didn't knock any doors and we found 2 new friends!! What happened was that we rang their number outside the bloc, they answered and when we got to their floor, they opened the door straight up and let us in. Inside was a 70 year old man named Octavian who spoke English and really wanted to practice his English with us. So we went in and talked with him and his wife, Aurelia. As we were talking, we got to share about the Book of Mormon and we shared the Restoration and the Spirit was super strong!! They wanted a Book of Mormon so we gave them one and they wanted to come to church!! So that was a great way to end my time in Timi. And then in Cluj, Elder Dahl and I got straight to work to bring souls unto Christ! And we had a great lesson with a man named Gabriel and the Spirit once again was super strong!! He really wants to be baptized and knows the church is true, the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and he has a simple but strong testimony. We weren't able to set a baptismal date, but we really helped him and we now know what we need to do to bring him to the waters of baptism. We are keeping daily contact with him and we really hope he keeps progressing towards baptism.

I'm going to keep it short and sweet because of Christmas but I love you all and I know that this is the true church. I know that I have grown and I am a better person and I am excited for my time to come in Cluj. Merry Christmas to all of you lovely people!!!

Stand Ye in Holy Places

Hey everyone!!! So this was a really big week and a good amount of things went down, but I don't have all the time to talk about them, so I'll just give you all the basics! Bowen and Hoisington in the street! So the highlight and downfall of this week was when we set a baptismal date with Felix for about 24 hours. So we met up with him this week and we had a lesson about the Plan of Salvation. We had Fratele Matei with us and he was a big help for us because he loves this lesson. So we teach and it went really well and we set a date for August 18th! We were happy, Matei was happy, it was great. But we were talking with him at night and he said he no longer had any faith. So naturally, we meet up with him again and it was an interesting meeting. Essentially he is looking for historical evidence that the Book of Mormon is true and he doesn't have that evidence that it is true. So, we dropped his date and we won't be meeting with him anymore until he starts having ...

HammocKINGS

HammocKings! Hey guys this was a crazy week on so many levels!!!! Tuesday was a pretty packed day. We had 3 lessons with 3 investigators and they all went well. Our first was with Mihai and we helped him try and get back on that path towards baptism. He's been kinda flaky and this lesson was to really help him get back on track. We then had a lesson with Victoria and this was one of the highlights. We taught her about the Restoration and reestablished those expectations that we have for her. Turns out she has read from the Book of Mormon and is starting to see the similarities of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. She is starting to really progress and only big things are going to happen. We then taught Catalin a little about faith. This is what we really want to focus with him if he is ever going to progress any time soon. Overall, it was a bomb day! Am I real? Wednesday we had a slightly worse day as we only had 2 lessons to teach. The first was with Mihai ag...

Back to the Land of Promise

Hey everyone, sorry you didn't hear from me this last week. We had some Carbon Monoxide problems, but no worries, I am alive and well and I am able to email this week!! So transfers happened again and this time I am not safe from the chopping block as I will be checking out of Cluj :/ It's been great here and I loved serving here but the Lord needs me in other places. And that place just so happens to be Pitesti once again! It's been a year since I served there so it'll be good to be back!! I'll be with a missionary named Elder Rawhouser so it should be a good time! We are going to get stuff done!! This was a pretty good week for us in Cluj. It was honestly a good ol' hardworking week that felt super long and hard until we saw the fruits of our labors at the end of the week. We had a couple really good lessons with people and tried to reset our expectations with our friends. We had a lesson with a guy named Calin for the first time and it went really wel...
