Hey guys this was a crazy week on so many levels!!!!
Tuesday was a pretty packed day. We had 3 lessons with 3
investigators and they all went well. Our first was with Mihai and we helped
him try and get back on that path towards baptism. He's been kinda flaky and
this lesson was to really help him get back on track. We then had a lesson with
Victoria and this was one of the highlights. We taught her about the Restoration
and reestablished those expectations that we have for her. Turns out she has
read from the Book of Mormon and is starting to see the similarities of the
Bible and the Book of Mormon. She is starting to really progress and only big
things are going to happen. We then taught Catalin a little about faith. This
is what we really want to focus with him if he is ever going to progress any
time soon. Overall, it was a bomb day!
Wednesday we had a slightly worse day as we only had 2
lessons to teach. The first was with Mihai again and we kept talking about his
coffee problem and read Ether 12:6 with him. We really need to emphasize how
even though hard things are difficult to get through, with time things will be
okay. That was the focus and I think it really helped him overall. Our second
lesson was a man named Dragos who comes to English and wants to know about our
church. So we taught the Restoration and it went really well!

Thursday we had an even worse day because we only had 1
lesson to teach...this time with our other Mihai. This was really a rebuild
lesson because he has fallen away a little bit because some things contradict
his beliefs. So we watched President Monson's talk on the Book of Mormon and
discussed how the Book of Mormon is God's evidence that His church has been
restored to the earth. If the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith is a
prophet of God and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the
restored church of God upon the earth. And because we connected these dots, he
was able to understand a little better and he said he would read it again to
know if it true. Simplicity and boldness equal a great missionary lesson!!!
Friday we had a pretty normal day for the most part. We had
a cool language study where we watched the World Cup! The commentary was in
Romanian so we had to listen closely to hear things we knew. It was actually a
really fun time and I enjoyed it a lot!! And then we go home and we think the
night is fine until we get a call from President Hettinger. So transfers are
happening and I am not staying in Pitesti any longer. I will be going back to
my former domain of Bucuresti to finish some unfinished business. So that was
my shock of the night, but I'm not upset. I've done some great things here in
Pitesti and I have helped turn this city around from a hard place to one of the
most successful cities in the mission. President called me a legend here in
Pitesti and now I must spread that fire to Bucuresti. What a night haha.
Language study with the World Cup |
Saturday was a very chill day. I was able to say goodbye to
some people who I wouldn't be able to see and that was pretty fun. Nothing much
really happened though, so we watched another World Cup game for language
study. Gotta get it in somehow haha.

She wanted a picture with me, haha

Sunday was a really rough day because I was expecting to see
7 investigators at church, but instead, I saw 7 total people at church and no
investigators. It was pretty sad to say the least, but that's life here in
Romania. But afterwards, I was called by Victoria and she wanted to say goodbye
because she wouldn't be able to see me before I left. So that was a fun
conversation and was the highlight of the day. Now I'm chilling one last time
in Pitesti before I leave for Bucuresti on Tuesday.
I love you all and I hope this week is the best!! NU FRECAȚI
MENTA!!!!!!! //DB – This means literally “Don’t rub the mint” but means don’t waste
time, I guess 😊
