CE CU TINE?

Hey guys this was a pretty intense week for sure!

Tuesday was a pretty okay day overall. We had a couple lessons set up with our Mihais, but unfortunately they both didn't go through. That was really rough cause I wanted to have lessons, but sometimes that is not how it goes. Instead we did some visa work for Elder Solov'iov and that was really all.

Wednesday was a pretty fun day because we had exchanges with the Zone Leaders in Bucuresti. It was pretty darn awesome for the most part and I felt like I learned a lot. I was with Elder Welling and we had a goal to speak in Romanian for basically the entire day except for lunch and studies. And we did it! I felt really proud of myself, even though it was a lot for my brain but it was worth it. We didn't have the most successful day talking with people, but we worked hard and in the end we felt like our day was very successful.

Thursday was another fun filled day of working on Elder Solov'iovs visa which unfortunately took up most of the day. But the good news is that we are almost done and that is super exciting! We then had a good lunch time because the person giving my food was very generous and said that my Romanian was very good and I felt very cool haha.

Friday we had a pretty rough day contacting as we were unable to get anything going on the streets. But we all have those days and we just have to keep working hard to get past them. We then had sports night and Elder Solov'iov and I destroyed some Romanians in Ultimate Frisbee so that was a highlight of the evening haha.

Saturday was a pretty intense day. We went contacting early on and 5 minutes into it, this man comes up to us saying that we are Satanists, we are bothering people, we should go back to America, we just need to leave. Honestly, I was fine leaving and moving to another part of the street and talk to people there. But Elder Solov'iov got ticked off and these two started getting into a verbal argument and it was not pretty. Needless to say, a couple men came up and started defending us and telling the man that we aren't doing anything wrong. We left and we did not return to that street the rest of the day haha. We then had some lunch and games night and those things helped calm us down.

Sunday was a pretty balanced day. Church wasn't as great as usual, as we had only 8 people at church but we were able to have a good time nonetheless. We unfortunately had to drop our 2 baptismal dates because they weren't ready yet, but we were blessed to have another investigator tell us that she wants to be baptized into our church. So while we took a few steps back, we have a strong step forward with our investigator, whose name is Luminita. He baptismal date is May 26th so we hope that we can help her be completely prepared for this moment because she would be a very faithful member of this church.

Cool Beetle

I really want to share a scripture that defines how this week has gone. Ether 12:6 is about faith and how we receive a witness AFTER the trial of your faith. My faith has been tried these past few days and it is definitely hard to see the fruits of my labors. But I think that is how the Lord works. That is how the Lord wants us to trust in Him. We will not always understand why something happens, we might not know why we are the one to receive such a thing. But if we have faith on the rock of our Redeemer, who is Jesus Christ, we will not only be comforted in times of comfort, but we will know for a surety of the love our Father in Heaven has for us. Never forget that. I love you all and hope for the best from all!

Va iubesc,
Elder Bowen

With Every Hardship, There is Ease

Hey everyone, this was a pretty fun week for us! First off, crazy awesome miracle!!! So for the past couple weeks, we haven't been able to get in contact with our good friend DragoČ™. But we found him on the street and we invited him to church and the most amazing thing happened. He told us that these past weeks he had been in the hospital because of something with his head. But while in the hospital, he had a dream with an angelic person telling him that he needed to be baptized in the church of Jesus Christ. So on Sunday he told us he wants to be baptized as soon as possible, which leads to us having a baptismal date with him for the 3rd of August. God works in marvelous ways because he truly loves us. Another cool miracle this week was our friend Amber. She's from China and is doing volunteer work here in Romania. This week we started teaching her Romanian/Gospel and its been really great! She also loves the piano so she played the piano for us at church! She loved ch...

Week 3 in the books!

HEYYYYY YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS???? It is email time!!!!!!!!! This week was full of entertainment and I have a lot to tell you so listen up! Sunday was another great day in the MTC! The talks in our sacrament meeting were focused around the Holy Ghost which really brought the spirit to the meeting. We also got the opportunity to watch a talk by Elder Bednar called "Recognizing the Spirit". I learned really one big thing from that talk and it was to QUIT WORRYING ABOUT IT!!!! If you are given a prompting and it tells you to do something good, then do it. It is the Holy Ghost working among you and you should not doubt that fact. I really loved how even though that talk was years in the past, it stills applies to today! I was also called to be Zone Leader of my entire Zone , which freaks me out cause I am the youngest elder out of all of them but I feel blessed to be put in that position. My zone is gonna rock!!  (A zone is a group of missionary districts, and districts ar...

Christmas Without Sarmale Does Not Exist

Hey everyone this was a great week here in Timisoara!! So this week we had TRANSFERS!! So usually I don't freak out because of transfers but since a lot of missionaries are coming in and out, a lot of things are going to happen regardless of who you are. I am one of those people who faced some change because of transfers. I will no longer be training Elder Strobel here in Timisoara, but I am a Zone Leader with Elder Dahl in Cluj. So I'm pretty surprised, but excited at the same time. Even though I'm leaving Timisoara and Elder Strobel, the work still goes on and I know that I am needed in Cluj for a reason. I'm excited to be with Elder Dahl and to learn from him and to work hard alongside him in Cluj. I'm excited to be a Zone Leader and to lead this West Zone and to help it bring success and see the fruit of our labors. I am very grateful for the time I spent in Timisoara and I know I am a better person and a better missionary because of it. I am ready to bring ...
