6 Month Dinner!

Yo yo yo what is up???? This week was pretty wild!

Tuesday was my 6 MONTH MARK!!!!!! And it was a wild one. We went over to this one lady's house named Axenia and while we were teaching her about the Book of Mormon, we get a call from a random number and it turns out to be an investigator of our Zone Leaders and he called us about the weirdest things ever. He was super hard to understand and we did not know why he was so angry so that was a weird way to spend that lesson. The lesson ended well and it set up for her to read 3 Nephi 11 for our next lesson which is exciting. We then went and got our 6 MONTH dinner at a place called White Lion and that was a super fun way to eat dinner. We then finished our evening burning a tie to commemorate 6 MONTHS in the country (because Elder Ward also hit his 6 MONTH MARK). However, the burning went pretty badly and it left a awful smell in our apartment...totally worth it though haha.

Burning a tie to celebrate 6 months.

Wednesday was a pretty average day. I had a contacting party with some Orthodox theology students and that was a party....but I stayed firm to what I believed and did not let them fool me into any trap so that was awesome. It was also Pi Day so we bought a lot of circular foods because we couldn't find any pies haha.
PIE!

Thursday was a pretty hard day overall. We had 2 lessons set up with people but they both fell through and that was a bummer. Then, I got into a heated contacting session with a Jehovah's Witness. I left that bash feeling like absolute crap and it was rough. I once again stood firm in my faith and did not let the person's hate and opinion get to me. But it was super hard because he was saying that everything I knew was wrong and that I don't know the scriptures at all. Well, I am not perfect but I have faith in my Savior Jesus Christ and I have a knowledge that He loves me. And He knows that I am on this mission for the right reason and He will be there for me. That is my testimony and it will stand strong.

Friday was essentially just like Thursday as in that we got bunged twice more and contacting was pretty rough. It was a hard day but you have to push through the pain!! We had a really good games night though!! And we were able to get a great friend out of it in a man named Bogdan! We invited him to church and he said he would totally try and come so that was sweet!!!

Saturday was another meh day. We had a lesson set up with a guy named Ralf, but turns out he can't meet up anymore cause his parents forbid him from talking with people about religion. So we won't be able to talk with him ever and now I am super sad cause he had so much potential and now that is not going to happen. But he is still a great guy and I hope for the best for him!!!

Sunday was District Conference and it was super awesome! We ended up having our friend Bogdan there and turns out he loved it!! He said he felt super great and that he's now super interested in what we believe. He wants to come to church every Sunday and every games night so we are super pumped! We are going to meet up with him and bring him to BAPTISM!!!!!
That basically summed up our Sunday and our long and tiring week.

I miss you all and hope for only the best from you all!! Keep rocking the world!! Keep the fire burning!!!!

Va iubesc,
Elder Bowen

Stand Ye in Holy Places

Hey everyone!!! So this was a really big week and a good amount of things went down, but I don't have all the time to talk about them, so I'll just give you all the basics! Bowen and Hoisington in the street! So the highlight and downfall of this week was when we set a baptismal date with Felix for about 24 hours. So we met up with him this week and we had a lesson about the Plan of Salvation. We had Fratele Matei with us and he was a big help for us because he loves this lesson. So we teach and it went really well and we set a date for August 18th! We were happy, Matei was happy, it was great. But we were talking with him at night and he said he no longer had any faith. So naturally, we meet up with him again and it was an interesting meeting. Essentially he is looking for historical evidence that the Book of Mormon is true and he doesn't have that evidence that it is true. So, we dropped his date and we won't be meeting with him anymore until he starts having ...

Day 1 - to the Provo Missionary Training Center

Day 1 (from David not Cole) The day began so early.  We arrived at the Des Moines Airport at 4:30 for a 6:00 Flight.  Checking in was no problem, but it became real that this was the first steps in embarking on this two year adventure. Saying goodbye was hard for all, but we all kept it all together. The itinerary took Cole from Des Moines to Dallas-Fort Worth to Salt Lake City.  He fortunately met up with a couple other missionaries enroute to the Provo Missionary Training Center (MTC). Aunt Lisa met Cole at the airport.  The flight was slightly delayed, but they were able to get out of Salt Lake quickly as his bags were the first off the plane. We spoke with Cole as they traveled to Provo.  He was in good spirits, and proud to have navigated security, connections, gate changes, and all that excitement. In Provo, he also met up with his Aunt Sara and her family (Uncle Simon, Kajsa, Brynn, Maya, Isak) and Uncle Scott and his family (Aun...

"Whatever it is, we are against it" - Romania?

Hey everyone it was a pretty great week in Bucuresti! Tuesday we had exchanges with the Zone Leaders and I went with Elder Krylborn. He's a pretty awesome guy and we had a really solid day! We spoke in Romanian for a good amount of the day and focused a lot on how to keep accountable with the goals we have set. Overall, it was a great day and we were able to see a lot of success because of our hard work!   At a mall in Bucharest - me being me Wednesday we didn't do much overall except we had someone try to fix our hot water and have it ultimately fail so they told us they would try again the next day. So that was fun? Thursday we had a good day as we met with a member named Fang Shuang (he's from China) do his Family History so that was pretty awesome!! We also got some pretty great lunch with him so that was pretty great! We then had a lesson with a man named Florian who ended up being super awesome! We taught a 30 minute Restoration and he ab...
