Hey everyone, this one a pretty good week for us in Pitesti!

First off, we had a super awesome lesson with Erika, a returning member, and her boyfriend Peli. We've been pushing for something like this for a while and we finally got it! We taught the Restoration and Peli really liked it. He agreed to read the Book of Mormon and seems like a really sincere guy. And it also helped out Erika to have a greater desire to come back to church, especially since she'll be the example for Peli. I really think this is the best way for people to come unto the church and i think we'll see some huge success with this couple!

We also had a really cool lesson with Amber! We've been following up with her about reading the Book of Mormon and we finally had a Restoration lesson. It was really cool to teach her and ask questions because she answered them in such simple ways that the Spirit was helping testify of everything! We also watched the Restoration video and just to sit and watch and have the Spirit fill the room was amazing. Now shes reading and praying to know the truth! Shes a sincere person and I'm excited to see what happens!

We also met with Maria this week and we had a joint lesson with her and Tata Sandu. We read from 3 Nephi 11 and testified of the truthfulness of Christ's doctrine and the Book of Mormon. Tata Sandu then said that he believes it is a true book and that is just one more step closer to baptism, even at his old age. He also is appreciating our visits way more, especially when we read a lot from the Book of Mormon and pray with him. I hope we can have one last big lesson with him before I go home and set him on the right path.

This week, I watched "Meet the Mormons" and there was something that stuck out a lot to me. There was a member who was a football coach and he said that he's not coaching because of the team or the glory, but because this is how he supports his family and success will help support his family. He turned outward and showed the character of Christ by putting others first. We must follow the example of Christ and turn outward when the natural man wants to turn inward. It's hard, but I believe we can truly bring ourselves closer to Christ by helping others before ourselves. I love you all and I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Vă iubesc,
Elder Bowen

Stand Ye in Holy Places

Hey everyone!!! So this was a really big week and a good amount of things went down, but I don't have all the time to talk about them, so I'll just give you all the basics! Bowen and Hoisington in the street! So the highlight and downfall of this week was when we set a baptismal date with Felix for about 24 hours. So we met up with him this week and we had a lesson about the Plan of Salvation. We had Fratele Matei with us and he was a big help for us because he loves this lesson. So we teach and it went really well and we set a date for August 18th! We were happy, Matei was happy, it was great. But we were talking with him at night and he said he no longer had any faith. So naturally, we meet up with him again and it was an interesting meeting. Essentially he is looking for historical evidence that the Book of Mormon is true and he doesn't have that evidence that it is true. So, we dropped his date and we won't be meeting with him anymore until he starts having

HammocKINGS

HammocKings! Hey guys this was a crazy week on so many levels!!!! Tuesday was a pretty packed day. We had 3 lessons with 3 investigators and they all went well. Our first was with Mihai and we helped him try and get back on that path towards baptism. He's been kinda flaky and this lesson was to really help him get back on track. We then had a lesson with Victoria and this was one of the highlights. We taught her about the Restoration and reestablished those expectations that we have for her. Turns out she has read from the Book of Mormon and is starting to see the similarities of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. She is starting to really progress and only big things are going to happen. We then taught Catalin a little about faith. This is what we really want to focus with him if he is ever going to progress any time soon. Overall, it was a bomb day! Am I real? Wednesday we had a slightly worse day as we only had 2 lessons to teach. The first was with Mihai ag

Back to the Land of Promise

Hey everyone, sorry you didn't hear from me this last week. We had some Carbon Monoxide problems, but no worries, I am alive and well and I am able to email this week!! So transfers happened again and this time I am not safe from the chopping block as I will be checking out of Cluj :/ It's been great here and I loved serving here but the Lord needs me in other places. And that place just so happens to be Pitesti once again! It's been a year since I served there so it'll be good to be back!! I'll be with a missionary named Elder Rawhouser so it should be a good time! We are going to get stuff done!! This was a pretty good week for us in Cluj. It was honestly a good ol' hardworking week that felt super long and hard until we saw the fruits of our labors at the end of the week. We had a couple really good lessons with people and tried to reset our expectations with our friends. We had a lesson with a guy named Calin for the first time and it went really wel
